A Marshside Kitchen, Reimagined
THE STORY BEHIND THE SPACE
Overlooking the marsh in Mount Pleasant, this kitchen renovation began with an opportunity to reconnect the interior to its surroundings.
“The marsh views became the starting point for the layout, the palette, and the way the kitchen connects to the rest of the home”
THE DESIGN DIRECTION
Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining area opened the sightlines and made room for a generous central island, creating a more natural flow for cooking, gathering, and taking in the view. Richly veined Barcelona quartzite became the defining material, its movement lending depth to the creamy cabinetry and muted green island. A sculptural plaster hood introduces a softer silhouette, while brass pendants and woven counter stools bring warmth through contrasting textures. European-inspired details give the kitchen its character, with a restrained coastal palette that draws from the landscape just beyond the windows.
